Her Story: Cordella is from the parish of St. James, and with encouragement from families and friends, she studied housekeeping at Granville Vocational Training Centre leading to a 15-year career in hospitality. For her, working at Point of View is more than a job. It is a business that she is helping to build. Cordella is energetic and spiritual. When you arrive at Point of View, she will receive you with a warm welcome.
Tracy, Spa Technician and Beauty Therapist Based in Montego Bay, Jamaica
Tracy is a trained massage technician and is currently studying skin care and esthetics.
Her Story: Tracy brings her passion for healing and beauty to help those who are experiencing life stressors. She is truly an amazing therapist. If you ask Tracy how long she has been in this industry, she will tell you all her life. She has been treating her aunts to manicures and applying make-up for her family and friends from a very tender age. Tracy’s philosophy is this: If it’s not fun, there’s no sense in doing it. Try any of her services, and you will see that she has magic fingers!
Stan, Driver Based in Montego Bay, Jamaica
They don’t call him Stan the Man for no reason. Stan is more than a driver. He is a host in his own right.
His Story: Stan is from Jamaica but lived for some time in Philadelphia. He runs a transportation business in Montego Bay, and he is an entrusted driver for Point of View guests. When you land in Jamaica, you can be sure that Stan will be outside waiting for you before your plane even touches down. Once, we had a guest who came to Point of View to recover from a heart attack. She started to feel unwell at the villa. He took her to the hospital and waited with her all day, took her to the pharmacy to pick up medicine, and brought her back home. That’s the kind of personalized service you can expect from Stan.
Yanique, Director of Operations Based in the United States
Yanique is originally from Kingston, Jamaica and purchased Point of View with her husband Ronnie in 2016.
Her Story: Yanique migrated to the United States with her parents and younger sister when she was 11 years old. In 2014, she brought her husband and teenage children for a visit and began hungering for more time on the island. She also revived a dream of co-owning a bed and breakfast with her family. Yanique is also committed to creating good-paying jobs with benefits and worker ownership of Point of View. She manages all operations at the property and handles reservations and concierge services.
Ronnie, Director of Marketing Based in the United States
Ronnie is originally from Miami, Florida and purchased Point of View with his wife Yanique in 2016.
His Story: Ronnie has always dreamed of having a home outside of the United States that would serve as his place of respite. He has a big heart and wants to share this experience with family and friends, old and new. He has a marketing degree and uses his training and creativity to help people learn about Point of View. He manages the social media pages for the villa and runs various promotions and giveaways. He recently raffled off a free 5-night stay at Point of View for Instagram (@pointofviewvilla_spa) and Facebook (Point of View Villa and Spa Montego Bay) followers.
Miquela, Event Planner Based in the United States
Miquela is originally from Kingston, Jamaica. She owns An Intimate Affair, a full-service event planning company specializing in occasions of 50 people or less.
Her Story: Miquela migrated to the United States with her parents and older sister when she was eight years old. She has an accounting degree and also graduated with a post-baccalaureate culinary degree from Johnson and Wales University in Denver, Colorado. She launched her business in 2009. Her events are meticulously executed from personalized drink and food menus to beautiful décor and ambiance using lights, scents, and other visual cues to reflect the event theme.
Alana, Bookkeeper Based in the United States
Alana is a senior in college studying psychology and French. She manages the bookkeeping for Point of View Villa and Spa.
Her Story: Alana is the daughter of Ronnie and Yanique. After college, she is planning to take a gap year to prepare for the LSAT. She hopes to go to law school in 2019 to study human rights law. She is passionate about helping women who have been trafficked to start businesses and heal from their trauma. In the meantime, she makes extra money managing the bookkeeping for the family business.
